Secrets for Beautiful Eyes

by Permanent Makeup Clinic

Ever wonder how to get the windows to your soul look wider, bigger and more ‘come hither’ if you will? Take a look at some of these tips below or talk to us. We can help you as well!

1. Use White Eye ShadowEyeliner

So you don’t actually have to use an entire lid of white shadow to do the job but you can make sure to use a different white eyeliner than your usual black. Try to use the white both over and underneath your lids to create space. Think about it, if you have some space between your lashes instead of coloring them black, it helps create an illusion of fullness within your lashes.

2. Condition your eyes

One of the most important cosmetic things to do is to take care of your lashes. You DO NOT have to actually condition your eyes, but you probably should be taking care of your eye lashes. Use a decent makeup remover, not just whatever is closest. Use nice eye cream. Get some rest and make sure to curl your lashes and use a decent mascara. Remember to LOOK at the ingredients when you buy products.

3. Shape Your Eyebrows

Be on fleek! Take care of your brows girly! Fill in, pencil in, tattoo your eyebrows and make them as thick as looks good and full. A full eyebrow can change your face. Honest! Make sure you are taking a look at all of those important steps.

6. Play with Different Colors

Color is super important when trying to make your face look different. Remember that just because a solid teal color looks great on your best friend, doesn’t mean it will do the same for you. Play with your colors, use different palettes and ASK the staff at makeup stores. They are there to help you figure out what works best for you! Sit through the upsell to get a different version of what might work for your eyes, you never know, one of the staff could help you find your must-have liner!

7. Use Your Lips

Forget your eyes for the moment. Go for a bold lip and forget any heavy eye makeup all together. Yeah, that simple. Get a great mascara or apply some false lashes and leave your lids bare. A solid lip will attract different attention than you think.

8. Do you

Being yourself and holding yourself to look happy and sexy is the best thing you can do. It does sound cliche but confidence is sexy as hell. If you want to look good, feel good. Grab some lash lengthener, apply the black mascara and a red lip and get your butt outta the house! You will feel better when you know that you have done everything to look your best and have a good laugh. Those eyes will sparkle the more you giggle!

Simple Skin Health Tips

by Permanent Makeup Clinic

Each winter and spring we start realizing how important our skin is when we see the drier air and changing seasons. Use some of these simple tips to start keeping your skin healthy and looking great year round.

  1. Eating HealthyEating Well. UGH! What a drag to hear about how your diet affects your skin! Sometimes pepperoni pizza just tastes SO GOOD… but it’s not great for your potential dryness and eczema. You are what you eat. It is that simple. The more green, fresh food, organic ingredients, the more your skin improves. It isn’t always that easy to eat one salad and see an effect on your face… but it is important. The cells that make up your body are directly affected by each nutrient and piece of ingested food. When you think about food on a cellular level, it is very important.
  2. Use DECENT skincare products. Not every single $100 product is necessarily worth its weight in gold but there is value in using quality ingredients. When thinking about your skin, figure out what you need. Are you dry and you need to have all day moisture? Then make sure that the due diligence is done and you know what you are seeking. Just because you are needing to keep yourself within a budget, try to see what ingredients could be damaging to your skin and keep them OUT OF the products you buy.
  3. Don’t let your hard work to keep your skin healthy be canceled out by your makeup. Let your makeup compliment your skin care. If you spent your days eating healthy and trying to drink enough water, using your research to get some great products and then you apply a $2 powder and $.50 eye shadow. Oh no! Have you done your research on what products are good or bad for your skin? Any lotions that claim to moisturize but have alcohol within them… not good. Check your moisturizers for any of these: SD alcohol, ethanol, denatured, isopropyl, methanol or ethyl alcohol. Be on ALERT if you see these alcohols within your skincare. These are a problem. Although for the moment, they may seem to be helpful for quick drying or primers, they can lead to potential regular skincare issues.
  4. OIL SLICK. Before even using moisturizer or lotion have you tried pure oil either argan, coconut or rosehip directly onto your face? It helps seal in moisture and provides your skin with extra moisture and nutrients that your skin may need and is not available in your daily lotion. Ensure these oils also do not have alcohol involved in their ingredients. These oils are cheaper than you can imagine. Another great skincare oil to prime your face, nails and hair with is Argan oil. It’s become quite popular amongst the hair crowd with Moroccan Argan oil being added into many new shampoos and conditioners.

The Lazy Girl’s Guide to Beauty

by Permanent Makeup Clinic
Beauty Sleep
  1. Sleep – Like it or not, this is one of the best things you can do to look good. Staying out all night and being up late wreaks havoc on your skin. Little makeup is needed under the eyes for those who get a good night’s rest. It is also important to have an evening skin routine as well to ensure the best wake up look you can get!
  2. False lashes- I bet you didn’t think we’d suggest to use fake lashes! But guess what? Getting eyelash extensions or using fake lashes can potentially save you a lot of time and money that you’d waste on mascara. So save some time for yourself in the morning and get lashes for yourself.
  3. COCONUT OIL. We can not stress this enough, coconut oil is magic. It works on your skin, cuticles, hair, face, in your mouth, for your food. Not only does it provide nutrients for your hair and skin, it also is a cheap alternative to other expensive products. BEST OF ALL- It’s natural. It’s nature’s miracle and gift to you, so go head to your organic market and grab a jar for yourself.
  4. Shut eye- Now that we have you sleeping so soundly… we will ask that you change up what you sleep on. Get a satin pillowcase. Not that we are asking you to relive the ‘80s but satin is soft on your skin, doesn’t mess or tousle your hair and keeps your potentially dry skin smooth.
  5. Hydrate – You know this has been told to you from day one on your skin care journey, drink water. Yes, it really is that important. As each nutrient you take in does get dissolved into each cell of your body, make sure that you are ingesting the right things to make your beautiful face shine. It’s hard to remember, but just keep a bottle of water with you at all times, it can be easier than you think.
  6. Got kink? Curls got you in a frizz? Instead of going to bed with wet hair and waking up to an unholy mess on top of your head, wrap your hair. Make a small turban with a towel or best yet, a t-shirt. Wrap it around your head and get it ready for bed and let your hair dry naturally within your shirt.
  7. Puffer nutter. So if you insist on staying out all night, then we have some tricks to help your puffy eyes in the morning. First wake up and take a shower, always a good start. Before showering make sure to keep your eye gel in the freezer or a couple of metal spoons as well for about 30 minutes. When you come out, gently elevate your head and rest the spoons or the eye gel on for about 10-15 minutes. After this you will see the swelling go down and your eyes ready for your makeup brigade.

Be healthy and be you, you always look great!

Scar Camouflage

by Permanent Makeup Clinic

Psychological studies have shown how self-confidence can improve as a person sees their body image improve. Do you feel better after you have perfectly applied your makeup for the day? For many of us, it makes us feel put together, ready to take on the day. Some may be dealing with skin color loss (pigmentation) that can also occur from accidents, burns, medical procedures and various skin diseases. However, medical treatments are successful in improving the appearance of many kinds of skin abnormalities and scars. That being said, some patients may need the skin color of the area to be re-applied so that it looks normal and natural.

What Is Scar and Skin Camouflage?

Scar CamouflageScar and skin camouflage treatment has to do with tattooing the skin with various color tones to create a natural, balanced looks where there previously wasn’t. The purpose of this treatment is to disguise a skin area or scar that is missing the body’s natural color pigments. Other than scar camouflage, there are many terms that are used to refer to this treatment including corrective camouflage, skin camouflage, skin color tattooing, camouflage tattooing, and skin re-pigmentation. Keep this in mind when doing your research.

Like most medical or cosmetic procedures, the science behind the color pigments and the physiology is usually best understood by a specialist who is performing such procedures. Procedures such as these need training, skills, advanced knowledge, and experience with permanent cosmetics along with an artistic eye for skin color tones.

Is Scar Camouflage A Good Fit For You?

You may be a candidate for this procedure if you are going through one of the following:

  • You need to have a healed scar that is not pink and neither does it change color. A scar that is almost a year old needs to have stable color. If the scar is still red or still changing color, it means the tissue is still healing. Be patient. An experienced tattooist will never work prematurely on scar tissue because that incurs permanent damage.

  • The scar needs to be smooth. Camouflage tattoos never aim to correct the texture of the skin. If the scar you are considering having camouflaged is bumpy or raised then the process may not be as effective as you hope it to be.

  • The scar must not have any dark edges. Borders around a scar show Post Inflammatory Hyper Pigmentation from the surgery to the initial trauma. It is also possible that the camouflage tattooing increases the hyper pigmentation and make for a darker and wider border.

  • You can get a scar camouflage treatment if you do not have any of the following: spider veins, age spots, freckles, unstable vitiligo or hyper pigmentation.

  • Remember that camouflage tattooing does not restore the skin the way it was pre-damage. It does its best to make it look as close to the way the skin used to look like before it went through any injuries. The procedure makes the scar appear as if it is completely gone and makes it look as if the area is ‘perfect’ all over again.

Is Permanent Makeup Safe?

by Permanent Makeup Clinic

Many women want to wake up in the morning, look into the mirror, and see rosy lips, perfect eye brows and eye liner. This perk of cosmetic tattoos is all the rage among many women who are tired of having to wake up with remnants of yesterday’s makeup and having to touch up every other hour.

In the capable hands of an expert, permanent makeup is extremely safe. Permanent makeup comes under the category of micropigmentation. The process involves using a needle to put pigmented substances under the skin’s upper layer. The most common risks associated with permanent cosmetics (as well as any application of pigments to the skin) are allergies and infection.

Risk of Allergies

Allergies from this procedure are a very rare occurrence. We utilize only the finest quality pigments to ensure there are no issues with allergies. Still, we always encourage our clients to tell us if they suffer from any allergies.

Risk of Infection

The potential of it only exists if the practitioner fails to use sterile equipment to administer the tattoos. At Permanent Makeup Clinic, we make sure to follow the top notch safety regulations and expert practices on application. We take permanent to be a serious trade that deserves attention to detail in each step.

Permanent Makeup Can Be a Great Time Saver

by Permanent Makeup Clinic

Permanent makeup is still a relatively new concept among many people; especially because of the misconceptions that revolve around it that mix it up with common tattoos. Permanent makeup is a serious profession catering to women who seek the services for plenty of practical reasons. Here is why you should consider permanent makeup:

Morning Time Saver

With our hectic lives, and most of us busy taking care of not just our careers but our families as well, it can be tough to have time to take care of ourselves, especially with a repeated routine like that with makeup application.

Most women will tell you that they would rather sleep than wake up early for makeup application, if they can help it. Insane schedules can make you hate having to take time out just to look normal. With the aid of permanent make up, everyone has a chance to look and feel gorgeous without having to spend precious time every morning debating whether the liner is aligned or not.

Say Goodbye To Touching Up

Permanent Makeup Time SaverIt can be a chore having to update all the makeup that you put on in the beginning of the day. Having to clean and reapply the smudge makes you wish you never put any of it on in the first place.

With summer in full swing, you are probably going to be indulging some water sports and other summer activities. Forget touch up, you won’t be able to maintain the look you perfected in the morning when you set foot on the beach. And that is just unfair. You do not have to forego having fun in the sun just to keep the makeup. With permanent makeup you can have both. You could be surfing and walk out of the water in all your perfect liner, peachy lips splendor.

Perfect Brows

With permanent makeup, you leave no room for error when you are getting your brows done. Some of us still pray that the stylist does not mess things up for us while we go through the procedure. It all can be a very daunting affair. And let’s not mention that is just the ordeal women face on top of wanting the perfect brows once and for all without having to tamper with them at all. Permanent makeup is the answer to that.

Look Your Best

A lot of people, especially aging ladies, complain that one of the things about celebrating that birthday every year is that you lose out on color. Diamonds were never a woman’s best friend, it was the lip liner. The mirror can make it make it seem like you are waking up as a semi dead person. This can be a blow to your self esteem and just feel wrong, after all what you are should show on your face and you are most definitely not some washed out zombie. With permanent makeup, you get to choose what you look like without having to go through the ordeal of re-applying the makeup every morning.

Tips for Us Non-Morning People

by Permanent Makeup Clinic

Tips for MorningsYour morning is what can make or break your day. If you are not a morning person, welcome to the club. Most of us aren’t either! Here are a few habits that are going to help make your mornings better (or more bearable for some of us) from now on.

Drink Lemon Water

When you wake up in the morning, your body has just experienced eight hours without any sort of hydration. One glass will do the trick. Do this first thing in the morning. It gets the body going no matter how tired you feel. Also make sure that the water is warm otherwise it would only shock your system, and not just any warm water will do, you want warm water that tastes great. You can add lemon to it, and even some honey if you want to cut down on some of the lemony tartness.

Scrape Your Tongue

Taking your time on scraping your tongue is something you will not want to forego. It allows you to eliminate morning breath and gets you ready for the rejuvenation process that you need to kick start a busy day. The best thing about it all is that food will taste better once that film is off your tongue. The best tool: your toothbrush.

Stretch

A five minute stretch can do wonders that you probably did not know of. It begins by waking your muscles up. Make sure that you modify your workout according to what you can and cannot do. You can even use this time slot to do a bit of yoga or sneak in a bit of exercises. It does not really matter how long you decide to stretch. If you only have a couple of minutes to spare, then that’s more than enough as well.

Dry Brush Your Whole Body

Dry brushing does more than brush off dead skin cells but also makes sure that your blood circulation gets better. It is important that you brush in motions closer to your heart. This will make your skin feel smoother and you will notice the difference only after you have entirely dried off.

When choosing a brush, make sure you get one that is not too rough that you would detest looking forward to, get one that is at least a good exfoliater.

Listen to Uplifting Music

Audio books work too. If you are having trouble concentrating on just getting out of bed every day, then this should pump you up to start the day. However, songs can get stuck in your head and that sort of thing may just be the thing to drive you nuts, if that is the case with you, go with the audio book.

Meditate

Clear your mind for a few minutes. Meditation can help you listen to the silence and feel mentally lighter and ready to face the day. Meditation can mean anything here, whatever position you like, whatever space you make your own.

Make sure it is only for a few minutes, you don’t want to fall into a trance that takes over where you don’t feel like starting your day with an hour of just ‘sitting around’.

We’re all about looking good through permanent makeup. But feeling good (even in the mornings) is just as important!

Taking Better Care of Your Skin

by Permanent Makeup Clinic

Skin MoisturizerA few tips on how to take care of your skin for an overall healthy look.

Know Your Skin Type

In order to take care of and respect your skin, you need to make sure that you choose only those products, no matter how commercially popular or not, that suit your particular skin type. Understand which skin type you have and then buy stuff that caters to it. Some products are targeted towards dry skin while others are meant for oily skin.

Fragile Skin Areas

Not all areas of your skin are the same. Some parts are more fragile than others; we are talking area around the eyes and lips. These areas deserve to be treated with special skin care attention. It all starts with makeup removal. Always make sure that you make use of pH neutral remover so that you do not stress the skin and maintain the natural balance.

Eyes are a risky area. The perfect trick to keep them clean is to stick to a certain routine for makeup removal for these skin areas.

Skin Exfoliation

You cannot just skip on this routine. It needs to be effective and gentle and respectful. Make sure that you use a pH exfoliate which is ideal for purifying and smoothing skin.

Moisturize

The epidermis is made up of 15% water. The dermis is made up of 70% water. The only way to keep the skin well moisturized it is very much necessary that you make use of a moisturizer every day to balance the level of water within the skin. You may also make use of a moisturizing mask routinely, but remember to remove the excess by using a water spray.

Protection From the Sun

Whatever the season may be, you need to choose skincare products that have solar filters in them. These products cut down on the harmful effects of the sun which later slowly speed up the skin aging process.

Do Not Forget The Lips

This is one mistake that most people make. It is important that even when you feel a sight need you make use of restorative cream. You can reapply to this fragile area as much as you prefer.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil Works

You can soak a cotton pad in the olive oil and spread it all over your face. This makes the skin smoother. Don’t rinse it off immediately after applying.

Do Vapor Treatment

Boil some water in a saucepan and then put some baking soda in it, with the heat turned off. Get your face close to the saucepan and breathe the hot vapor that is coming in front of you. Also, make sure that you cover your head with a towel. You can stay this way for ten minutes or so till you feel your face sweating. After this, you can use a piece of hygienic paper and squeeze the blackheads on your face. If you think you cannot do it, you can go to a beautician and get it done.

Everything That You Need To Know About Permanent Makeup

by Permanent Makeup Clinic

Everything You Need to Know About Permanent MakeupMost women only come across posters or hear the words ‘permanent makeup’ and jump to conclusions. The most pressing questions that they may have are things like what is it exactly? Is it safe? And whether they can get one too?

Permanent makeup can be simply described as a type of tattoo. But instead of getting a butterfly or a star, you get your makeup drawn. This process is also known as micro pigmentation and cosmetic tattooing.

Who Gets It?

The most popular tattoos amongst women are the eye lining, eye brow enhancements, and adding color to the lips. Many women even refer to this service to improve the look of skin surface post breast surgery.

You can get permanent makeup if you are losing out your brows due to some disease, chemotherapy, or you want to get it to cover some sort of skin imperfection. Most women find the reason ‘convenience’ enough to get the tattoos. Think about it, you will never need touchup again in your life. This make up can be used as a substitute to mascara as well. This procedure simply darkens the eye lashes, however it can do nothing about your lashes naturally falling out. You will have to get the procedure redone once that happens.

Other than that, this is one handy process for women who are near sighted or do not have steady hands enough to apply makeup right every morning. The reason that it is really popular goes over that, more than half of us are on the go and the rest of us are athletes (and there are the few who are lazy and admit so as well), permanent make up is the perfect fix.

The Dangerous Dyes

Permanent makeup is not as dangerous as the ink used to make it can be. The FDA has on several accounts looked into and banned certain ink dyes for tattoos. The main hazards that they cause are allergic reactions, infections, problems with removal, granulomas, and scar formation. Some of the inks that the FDA regulated were industrial grade and meant for paper instead of skin.

Permanent makeup tattooing is actually a serious craft and not an idea put forward by some tattoo parlor. There is even an organization that is dedicated to the profession: Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professionals.

At the end of the day, people who apply non-permanent makeup may be getting good at crafting that symmetrical liner and brow but they are actually spending a lot more money buying makeup again and again than they are if they go through the permanent makeup procedure just once.

So what are you waiting for, if you still have questions about the whole affair, do not hesitate to contact us. We can help you through any of your queries and even discuss the options of permanent makeup that are suited specifically to you.
